Marshmallows, Hot Drinks & Christmas Cheer......

Coming into the Christmas and Winter Season I love a good hot drink but my issue is always what I want to eat with it. Here is a list of my favourite winter hot drinks and snacks.

Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate with Raspberry Marshmallow

The Raspberry Marshmallow is coated with dark chocolate and is under 150 calories. I love this combination together, the salted caramel chocolate isn't too strong and is perfect with this little raspberry flavour.

Tropical Green Tea with Vanilla Marshmallow Bar

This vanilla marshmallow is coated with milk chocolate so it is more of bar of marshmallow. This bar is under 150 calories. I put this marshmallow with a Tropical Green Tea. I love this tea as it is so different to just a basic green tea.

Starbucks Toffee Nut Latte with Coconut Marshmallow

This Christmas I am in love with Starbucks' Toffee Nut Latte, the taste is amazing. I am more of a costa fan but this is the best christmas drink. I put this drink with the coconut marshmallow, I love coconut and this is the perfect flavour to put with a Toffee Nut Latte.

Belgium Hot Chocolate with Coconut Marshmallow

I love this coconut marshmallow, it is so soft and great with whipped cream on top of your hot chocolate. I put this marshmallow with a plain hot chocolate as I still wanted to have the coconut taste coming through.

The Brick Lane Froyo.......

The different flavours of frozen yoghurts you can choose between are:

Natural - so plain yoghurt.
Dulce De Leche - which has a toffee and caramel flavour to it.
Peanut Butter - which is self explanatory.
Chocolate Hazelnut - which is like nutella.
Tropical - which is made of coconut cream and coconut milk making this frozen yoghurt vegan.

The toppings are to die for. There is such a variety and an amazing selection. There is:

Granola
Popcorn
Biscuits
Homemade Brownies - Raspberry, Plain and Peanut Butter
Kiwi
Raspberries
Blueberries
Passionfruit
Chocolate Buttons
Pineappple
Strawberries
Mango

You then can choose a sauce between honey, chocolate or caramel.

So what did I choose?

Based on the testers we got to try I really enjoyed the Dulce De Leche, I thought this was a very unique flavour to other Frozen Yoghurt shops and I loved the creamy taste. I was in a debate as to whether to go for the plain but I thought that I would be different. Also if you love your fruits I would definitely go for the Tropical, it is so light in your mouth. After that Toppings, this was such a hard decision. At first my eyes went straight to the chocolate buttons so on they went. I then was told you have to have a homemade brownie, so I chose the Raspberry one and then strawberries as well. As for the sauce I decided to go with honey as I didn't want a too over powering sauce or flavour as the frozen yoghurts flavour was so unique itself.

Need Help Cooking Healthy Meals?......

I was lucky enough to be able to attend Nutrition Expert Alli Godbold demonstrating some healthy recipes from around the world. These gluten free recipes, use fresh, natural and unprocessed ingredients are not only nutritious, but will be ready in less than 30 minutes. Alli Godbold I base in Chiswick and taking workshop bookings of 6 or more people. More information on Alli can be found her http://www.feedyourhealth.co.uk.

This demonstration took place in the Queens Lodge Kitchens in Chobham. The whole program is arranged and managed by Vicki Millar. She also does a variety of other workshops too. This year she has had worksop including food with bowls and tapas bites, chocolate celebration cakes, christmas wreaths, freeze and prepare ahead for christmas. Other workshops can be found here http://www.queens-lodge.com

I don't want to tell you any of the recipes as I think it is interesting for you to find yourself and look at Alli's work a bit more.

Lebanese Baba Ganoush with Super Healthy Flaxseed Crackers

These Flaxseed Crackers will save you from guilty snacking, they are so delicious and you will want more and more after having just one. With the Baba Ganoush this was amazing to learn how to make a dip that isn't machine processed. I always buy my dips from the store and now I can make my own at home that is so delicious. This dip goes amazingly with the crackers and they were compliment each other.

Hot and Spicy Thai Salad

I love thai salad, since I tried it when I went to Thailand. I am not going to lie this wasn't my favourite recipe but still a very strong taste and amazing texture but I personally just preferred the others more. I would definitely recommend this to vegetarians.

Miso Salmon with Radish and Courgette Salad

I am obsessed with Salmon and especially cooked salmon rather than smoked. I also make salmon at home but always make the same thing with no seasoning on top of my salmon, if i do put seasoning I put a bit of soya sauce on. Therefore this recipe was perfect for me, to add a bit of seasoning to my salmon and also vary what I put my salmon with.

Banana Nutty Ice Cream

This is so healthy and absolutely stunning to eat. The ingredients include almond butter, cocoa, banana and many more. Although this doesn't use the fundamentals of homemade ice cream it still has  the texture and creamy taste of ice cream without the guilt. I absolutely loved this and wanted more after I had tried it. I will definitely be making this at home as it is so easy and a healthy alternative to Ben and Jerry's. :)
