My Weight Loss.....

Recently I have been on a diet and workout programme. I created the diet myself and took the workout programme from personal trainers and my dance sessions. I wanted to feel better in myself and flatten my tummy out.

My diet takes part in the week, I don't eat breakfast or I have a coffee then for the rest of the day I have porridge and a juice drink. Then I can eat what I want to for dinner. The porridges can be any flavour and our really good for you as it contains energy so will get you through the day. The juice I like to drink are from coldpress, I either have a juice or a smoothie drink from them. On the weekend I can eat what I want to eat.

My workout programme consists of 4 minutes of running/jumping/jumping jacks. I then do an ab workout for 3-5 minutes. I normally do crunches, crunch pulses, bicycle kicks, plank, superman and ball sit ups. I started with crunches and ball sit ups at the start but then after that I started to build them up to do different exercises as I was getting stronger. I then very evening after my workout try to do an activity whether it is dancing or swimming. I don't do an activity on friday and saturday nights. I try to eat my dinner before I go to do these activities as then I am more likely to burn those calories off.

To keep track of everything I was doing I created a chart this has the date down the side and then at the top running, ab workout, breakfast, lunch and the weight. This means I could keep track of everything I do in the day. I normally weight myself every morning to give a better idea of how much I have loss. You should weight yourself at the same time everyday to get a good idea of how much weight you lose.

Choccywoccydoodah.....

This weekend I went to Choccywoccydoodah with some of my good friends. We were all invited to go to a private room for two hours for our friend Melissa's birthday surprise. We went to the Choccywoccydoodah in Carnaby street that is near the MAC store. We had to get there by train and tube. Her birthday was a couple of weeks ago and this was to celebrate that. We entered the room and it was like walking into Alice in Wonderland. The flooring was grass and there was a massive table to the side filled with chocolate and sweets. When Melissa arrived they then added sundaes to the table too. There was so much to eat and everything tasted amazing. Here are a couple of photos from the day. I would just like to write a little message to Melissa to say that I wish that she had a great day and didn't eat too much. I also wish you a very Happy Birthday and thank you so much for being a great friend. Love you lots.

Sparkle and Celebrate.....

We all now that New Years Eve has pasted and what better way to look back at it then to do a fashion blog. So this is what I wore for my New Years Eve party. The theme of the evening was sparkle of course. I wore this lovely velvet dress that has sparkled leopard print on it. The straps on this dress are very different and unique therefore I had to wear a strapless bra with the dress. It is also a body con dress so I wanted it tight fitting so I got it in a size four. This dress is from Topshop and I bought it from the Topshop on the Strand in London. I then paired it with some black heels from Topshop in a size four.

Here are a few pictures from the night too.

Barbie Shoot.....

So on Friday night I had another photoshoot this shoot was based on a photographer called Dina Goldstein and she does a real life short story barbie shoot. Therefore I wanted to do one too, I first looked at taking pictures of an actual barbie doll then wanted to look at making it real life. So for this shoot I had my friend Melissa help me out by being my model. I had set up the shoot to be in give different scenes that barbie would be in.

This shoot was of real things barbie would do and then a domestic barbie that looked quite weird and went against the character of barbie. In each scene I used one soft box to light the area and model. To make Melissa look more like barbie I used facepaint to draw the lines from the joints on the barbie. This worked really well as it looked realistic. In my photos you can see the lines I put on her. This shoot was so much fun to come up with ideas, shoot and set up. Also I feel that the results are amazing an everything worked so well. Here are a few of my best pictures.

Glamour Photoshoot....

I haven't really done a blog about my photography or photoshoots before so I thought I would start now. Recently I purchased some stuff for my studio at home. I already had a stand for my studio but it came with white fabric which creased quite easily so I bought a roll of white paper which helped a lot to make my photos more professial as there were no creases in the paper. I bought this paper off amazon along which some soft box studio lights. These are two studio lights that I put either side of the studio. This also helped to make my photos look better. Here is a picture of my set up and also to show that I put my studio in my garage cause that is the only place it will fit as it is quite big.

So to go on to the photoshoot. This photoshoot is for my A level portfolio and it is based on the photographer Horst. The style of photos he took were very vintage and 1920s glamour looking, he also shot in black and white so I did the same. I tried to keep the 1920s fashion style through out my photoshoot. I am so happy with the photos and how the whole shoot went. My model was my stunning friend Kelly who had the 1920s looking body. As she is tall. I also had my friend priyanka doing hair and makeup. I had two different looks for the photoshoot so two different changes and each time, the hairstyles and makeup were incredible. If you would like to see more of my photos from this shoot or any other shoots like my Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/VickyMcgeesPhotography

Styling Course......

This week I took part in a three day styling course at UAL. The University of Arts London where I want to study. The course was held at the London College of Fashion partof UAL and was in Lime Grove which is opposite Westfield at Shepards Bush. Every day I got the train to Shepards Bush Station. One the first day we did theory on Styling and how you can get in to a job in styling and different types of Styling. I don't think I want to go in to Styling as a career but I wanted to look at the backstage aspects of fashion photography. I am also taking a make up course soon too. On the second day we did a bit more theory and a few things to do with styling. On the last day we did a shoot all day. We had to choose two themes so I picked festival and a birthday theme. So i took two outfits with me for the day and I had to be the model for the two shoots. I haven't got the photos back from the shoots yet but I have a few photos from the course. I went on the course on my own and made so many new friends there it was amazing.

I am a student, dancer, swimmer and photographer. I wanted to study Fashion Photography when I am older and am really in to fashion. So why start a blog? To get my name out there and to show you guys what my life is like. My life consists of many ups and downs that I would like to share with you. So a bit about myself. This is the hard bit…. as you know I am a swimmer and dancer but my social life still goes on. I love hanging out with my friends every weekend and they are the best. I have an amazing man in my life that hopefully you will be seeing a lot of and I love my family to pieces. My life at the moment consists of studying hard to pass my AS Levels. My favourite colour is like a latte colour (a nude brown). My favourite place to eat is Wagamamas. My favourite thing to do is to go to London as it is so busy and full of things to do. So that is a bit of insight in to my life and more to come. I hope you like this blog and post any ideas of blogs you would like me to talk about.
