Need Help Cooking Healthy Meals?......

I was lucky enough to be able to attend Nutrition Expert Alli Godbold demonstrating some healthy recipes from around the world. These gluten free recipes, use fresh, natural and unprocessed ingredients are not only nutritious, but will be ready in less than 30 minutes. Alli Godbold I base in Chiswick and taking workshop bookings of 6 or more people. More information on Alli can be found her http://www.feedyourhealth.co.uk.

This demonstration took place in the Queens Lodge Kitchens in Chobham. The whole program is arranged and managed by Vicki Millar. She also does a variety of other workshops too. This year she has had worksop including food with bowls and tapas bites, chocolate celebration cakes, christmas wreaths, freeze and prepare ahead for christmas. Other workshops can be found here http://www.queens-lodge.com

I don't want to tell you any of the recipes as I think it is interesting for you to find yourself and look at Alli's work a bit more.

Lebanese Baba Ganoush with Super Healthy Flaxseed Crackers

These Flaxseed Crackers will save you from guilty snacking, they are so delicious and you will want more and more after having just one. With the Baba Ganoush this was amazing to learn how to make a dip that isn't machine processed. I always buy my dips from the store and now I can make my own at home that is so delicious. This dip goes amazingly with the crackers and they were compliment each other.

Hot and Spicy Thai Salad

I love thai salad, since I tried it when I went to Thailand. I am not going to lie this wasn't my favourite recipe but still a very strong taste and amazing texture but I personally just preferred the others more. I would definitely recommend this to vegetarians.

Miso Salmon with Radish and Courgette Salad

I am obsessed with Salmon and especially cooked salmon rather than smoked. I also make salmon at home but always make the same thing with no seasoning on top of my salmon, if i do put seasoning I put a bit of soya sauce on. Therefore this recipe was perfect for me, to add a bit of seasoning to my salmon and also vary what I put my salmon with.

Banana Nutty Ice Cream

This is so healthy and absolutely stunning to eat. The ingredients include almond butter, cocoa, banana and many more. Although this doesn't use the fundamentals of homemade ice cream it still has  the texture and creamy taste of ice cream without the guilt. I absolutely loved this and wanted more after I had tried it. I will definitely be making this at home as it is so easy and a healthy alternative to Ben and Jerry's. :)

Joe Delucci's Gelato for That Cheat Day.........

Joe Delucci's gelato is known for it's range of unique taste of gelato and also known for most of the gelato's being fat free or low fat. I went to the Joe Delucci's Gelato store in Westfield, White City. It is located just near Five Guys, Zizzi and Debenhams. Dairy-free, gluten-free and fat-free available. Our gelato contains no artificial preservatives, colourings or genetically modified ingredients.

Cheesecake

I never thought that cheesecake could be a flavour gelato but this one is amazing. Probably one of my favourites! The taste is so creamy yet light.

Nocciolata

If you like chocolate I would suggest this gelato. It is very much like a nutella gelato and has those flavours of chocolate and hazelnut coming through. I found this gelato too rich for me personally but if you love nutella, you will love this.

Coconut

I am loving coconut flavours at the moment so you won't be surprised that I pick to try the coconut gelato. I love this to light and tasty if you don't want a heavy gelato. The coconut flavour comes through really strong and works really well. Per 100g this gelato contains 198.40 calories.

Coconut with Pineapple

This pineapple gelato is fat and diary free. Per 100g this pineapple gelato contains 131 calories. After trying Coconut, it was suggested to myself that I tried coconut and pineapple together. This tastes just like a Pina Colada and reminds you of the beach. So tropical and absolutely delightful, both the flavours go so well together.

Mango Sorbet

This sorbet is fat and diary free. Per 100g this sorbet contains 123.70 calories. I absolutely love mango sorbet and this definitely lived up to my standards with a fresh taste of mango coming through, the sorbet is very lightweight and melt smoothly on your tongue.

Lemon Sorbet

This is fat free.  Per 100g this sorbet contains 116.30 calories. This sorbet is very sharp. I really enjoy sorbet but I found this too much for myself. If you like the taste of sharp lemon then this is for you.

Soft Ice

I didn't know what soft ice was until explained and trying this. This is basically like the Mr Whippy 99 ice cream we probably all had as kids. This version taste slightly different but still just as amazing as the original.

Sundae

This Sundae is made up of Caramel Sauce, Vanilla gelato, Cheesecake gelato and Caramel gelato with a flake on top. I had previously tried the cheesecake but not the vanilla and Caramel.Cheesecake is still my favourite but the caramel was also really creamy which is why they went well together. The Vanilla was at the bottom so I couldn't really taste it without the other flavours but still the whole mixture was so nice.

Get That Yummy in Your Tummy........

YummyTummyCo is a specialist gluten, wheat & dairy free meal company aiming to deliver to hungry London based workers. They hand make all their meals in their kitchen in King's Cross. Their selection of yummy pots offer a wide range of cuisines & flavours. All their pots are Gluten & Wheat Free. They also offer a range of Vegan, Dairy & Lactose free pots.

All these pots are gluten, wheat and diary free with no additives or preservatives.

Quirky Quinoa

This pots is made up of Quinoa, Kale, Black Beans, Sweet Potato, Sweet Corn, Coriander, Pumpkin Seeds, Garlic, Olive Oil and Salt and Pepper. The whole pot contains 344 calories. It is vegetarian, obviously. This pot can be heated up in the microwave on a medium heat for 2 minutes. Then stir and another 2 minutes more in the microwave. This is so easy to do and so quick for those days where you really can't be bothered to cook or are in a rush.

When eating it, I literally just ate it out of the pot it came in. I love the tastes in this pot, the Quinoa tastes so good and with the sweet potato it is amazing. I am not a big fan of the kale in it but that is personal preference. This pot is perfect for lunch or dinner, it is very light and if you have had a lot to eat in the day it is perfect for a light dinner. This pot is £5.25 but not all sellers stay to this price suggestion.

Catch of the Day

This pot contains Line Caught Tuna, Bell Pepper, Tomato, Black Beans, Sweet Corn, Cucumber, Spinach,  Dill, Olive Oil, Lemon Juice, Salt & Pepper.  The whole pot is 198 calories. This pot is cold and should be served cold.

I literally just got the pot out of the fridge and ate it out the pot so easy and quick. I was a bit wary of this pot because I didn't think I would like the flavours but this is actually my favourite. The tuna is so fresh and complimented with the cucumber and sweetcorn really well. I love this pot, it doesn't taste too fishy and it is the perfect size. This pot is £5.50 but not all sellers stay to this price suggestion.

Salmon Run

This pot contains Salmon Fillet, Brown Rice, Green Beans, Tomato, Chick Peas, Spinach, Olive Oil, Tarragon, Sea Salt and Pepper. The whole pot is 491 calories. This pot is a 100% Organic and can be heated up by emptying it in to a frying pan and stirring it to heat up for 4 minutes.

Heating up with meal in a frying pan, I didn't put any oil in the pan but I would suggest it as the rice stuck to the pan again. I found that when I stirred the rice and salmon together the salmon mixed in with the rice and wasn't separate. I don't mind this myself but if you want them separate I would suggest putting the rice in first then put the salmon in after.

I then put into the my plate and topped with a bit of grated mozzarella cheese on top. I only put this one as I had it in my fridge and fancied a bit of cheese. I would really suggest it though, just adds a bit to the meal. The flavours of this pot are fresh and light. I didn't feel stuffed after the meal which is great for a little dinner. I would definitely suggest this pot for dinner rather than lunch as I hate a really heavy lunch. This pot is £8.50 but not all sellers stay to this price suggestion.

Maitre Choux.......

Maitre Choux is the first and only choux pastry specialist patisserie in the world. They are a modern version of a French patisserie, redesigned to cater to the most discerning of tastebuds. They have a three Michelin star experienced chef called Joakim Prat. Their shop is based in South Kensington and is absolutely adorable, it has been up and running for one and a half years now. I love the aesthetic of the shop and the design of the pastries. The size of the pastries are perfect, the eclairs are finished in about four bites which is perfect for a snack or light treat.

The Green One - Persian Pistachio

This eclair is topped with pistachios and mini meringues with a green icing. I absolutely love pistachio and anything flavoured it. The smell is just all round pistachio  This eclair is amazing, exactly what I was hoping for in the pistachio flavour. The pastry around the filling is light and not too filling which is nice if you want to eat the eclair for breakfast ora light after dinner snack or maybe even a snack on the go. The filling is to die for light and full of pistachio flavours. Absolutely amazing, I could eat these all day.

The White One - Tahitian Vanilla

The vanilla one is topped with caramelised almonds with a white with black speckled icing. The smell of this eclair is indescribable, I have never smelt this before. When biting into the eclair the filling really takes over your taste buds, it is absolutely incredible. You don't really taste the pastry or the toppings as the inside is so powerful but absolutely gorgeous.

The Red One - Raspberry & Vanilla

The topping on the raspberry is a thick red slab of vanilla icing with white chocolate across the top, obviously a raspberry on there and some gold leaf. The smell is very heavy of raspberry but then there is a fresh raspberry cut open on top so this smell is coming through strong. The filling inside the pastry is raspberry jam but the icing on top really compliments this well. I wasn't happy when I found out it was jam instead but with the icing it works so well.

The Gold One -  Hazelnut & Milk Chocolate

The Gold eclair is topped with gold and a layer of chopped hazelnuts underneath. The layer of chocolate on to is rally thick. The smell of the eclair is all round chocolate with a hint of hazelnuts a bit like nutella. This eclair is like biting into a nutella bomb with a crunch of nuts. It is like a posh nutella pastry. I love the taste but this is probably the heaviest eclair out of all of them.

The Ball -  Dark Chocolate

The presentation of the ball is amazing with a dark chocolate slab on top. This has a strong smell of dark chocolate, stating the obvious! The pastry on the outside of the ball is quite sugary and not what you expect when you look at it. The inside is a chocolate cream. This reminds me a lot of a chocolate profiterole. It is nice but definitely a dessert rather than a snack or breakfast. It is also a lot bigger than the eclairs so harder to eat, also with the cream exploding out.

Overall my favourite has go to be the Tahitian Vanilla eclair. This is amazing, so delicious. The shop is located in South kensington, if you come out of the station and walk across the road near the The Ampersand Hotel, it is a grey hotel. The shop is directly opposite it. I would definitely suggest going, it is absolutely gorgeous and delicious.

My Two Halloween Makeup Looks......

So I previously did a blog post on my Halloween Cat Makeup but I thought I would merge the two together in one Halloween post.

My first look was the Cat Makeup look you have already seen. In this look I used Beauty Boulevard's Glitter Lips on my eyes and lips. My makeup was done by my flat mate and good friend Lois North.

I used the colour Cocoa Loco for the cat makeup look. I felt like this was the perfect colour for the cat. Applying the glitter is simply. You just add the glue on to lips or eyes and then use a brush to slowly dab the glitter on to the glue. I love the way the look turned out but the glitter lips is so hard to get off. It took me a good few hours to be bothered to try and get it off as it was so hard.

My Second Look was my Clown look created by my good friend, Darcie Cook. This look used Beauty Boulevard's Star Dust and In Your Dreams glitter and gems. My friend Lois North also did my hair for this look.

I used Star Dust, the colour Drops of Jupiter for this look. This has a gold shimmer to it. It is so easy to apply, there is a glue inside the pack and you put that where you would like the glitter to go. Then apply the glitter over the top of it. I love how easy this was to put on. I found that the Star Dust was easier to get off than the Glitter Lips but the glitter was left all over my bed and on my face and body. It will literally get everywhere.

I absolutely love this look all round amazing, couldn't ask for anything more.
